She is the hard driving, blunt, straight talking head of the Residency program at on of the busiest, frenzied Emergency Rooms in the US. She has more dropouts than successful candidates in her Residency program. Her motto is ” you are only as good as your emergency wait time” She will break the rules when it is necessary as she is very tough but she will look the other way for the good of her patients. She wants her residents to always tell the truth to their patients. “YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND” She stresses they are the first contact the patient has in emergency and that there are no second chances in their work because often the second chance is death. She watches her residents like a hawk and is always stressing move to the ‘next crisis’ ‘ the next crisis’ ‘ the next crisis’
