DR. DONALD (DUCKY) MALLARD  HEAD FORENSICS PATHOLOGIST

Ducky is the Chief Medical Examiner and absent minded professor.  His extreme gift for language and his precise vocabulary often leave his colleagues a bit bemused.  His descriptions, demeanor  ( bow tie ) and relationships are very formal but in the most scholarly of ways.  He addresses all his colleagues and the corpses by their full, proper names and is always the consummate professional. Abby is Abigail, Tony is Anthony and Gibbs is Jethro.  He seems to be the only person to address Gibbs by his full name. He is training “Mr. Palmer” (Jimmy) to be a first class forensic pathologist  but at times is overwhelmed by Jimmy’s chatty, non-chalent acceptance of the situations that have brought the corpses to the autopsy room. Every case is new for him and there are no stones left unturned in the puzzle of the dead. To Ducky everything is connected and he teaches Palmer that if you spend enough time with a person or body you will begin to notice the patterns. Abby  ( ESFP) is he greatest allie because the details he might overlook she is able to add making them an unbeatable team
